[YP_Ke] RAILA ODINGA vows to support efforts to change the current CONSTITUTION again – REFERENDUM coming
Friday July 5, 2013 - Former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga, has vowed
to support a move by the Senate to amend the constitution.
Speaking at his Karen home on Thursday, Raila said he will support
efforts by the Senate of changing the constitution to ensure full
implementation of devolution.
"Towards this end, CORD fully supports the proposed National
Referendum on proposed amendments to the constitution to safe guard
the Senate and increase the threshold of revenue allocation to the
counties," Raila said.
Following a decision by President Uhuru to sign the Division of
Revenue Bill after the National Assembly ignored changes by the
Senate, Senators vowed to collect a million signatures and initiate
amendments to the constitution.
Raila said he will be the first to append his signature if Senators
are to collect 1 million signatures.
On the deteriorating security issue, Raila urged the Jubilee
Government to end insecurity since Kenyans have a constitutional right
to be protected by the State.
"We demand a permanent end to insecurity that is preventing them from
pursuing their economic and social dreams," he stated.

Why should we not all live in peace and harmony ? we look up the same stars
, we are fellow passengers on the same planet and dwell beneath the same
sky , what matters it along which road each individual endeavours to reach
the ultimate truth ? the riddle of existence is too great that there should
be only one road leading us to an answer
